Lucia Giorgi is graduated in Cellular and Molecular Biology (LM-6) at University of Turin in 2019. She obtained the Board certification in July 2020 and started working in Neurobiology Laboratory as part of the Referring Center of Multiple Sclerosis (CRESM) group in 2021.
Research focus
She is now involved in two main research focuses:
- Biobanking. Lucia is involved in processing of samples coming from Multiple Sclerosis patients, stored in the recently istitutionalised “CRESM Biobank”. The aim of BB-CRESM is supporting global research in neurology field, in particular neurologic autoimmune diseases, like MS.
- Fluid biomarkers. Lucia investigates fluid biomarkers, like serum Neurofilament light chain (NFLs), using ultra-sensitive techniques, to assess their relevance in clinical management of MS patients, including diagnosis, disease activity and follow-up of treatment.
