Research focus
Investigation of the role played by the different soluble growth factor neuregulin1 isoforms in the process of peripheral nerve regeneration, and their downstream cell signalling interaction with the transcription factor c-JUN, the possible interaction between the two aforementioned molecules is being investigated through c-JUN expression manipulation either by inhibitors or siRNA silencing.
Applying various tissue engineering strategies in a traumatic peripheral nerve injury model (Rat sciatic nerve model) to enrich the outcome of the peripheral nerve regeneration.
