Bando Nutrire i talenti
Graduated in Psychology with a specialization in Psychobiology and Neuroscience. The research trajectory began with an academic internship. The undergraduate research, supervised by Dr. Collado, focused on the interaction between estrogens and leptin on kisspeptin neurons during puberty onset.
Subsequently, advanced research on Psychobiology was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Venero. The work addressed sexual differences and hormonal systems, emphasizing the use of complex laboratory techniques and statistical applications.
To deepen expertise in neuroendocrinology, enrolled in a Master in Neuroscience, including a research internship at CSIC under Dr. Grassi and Dr. Arévalo supervision, focused on sex differences, resulting in a published paper about effects of tibolone.
I am currently working in the NICO (Torino) under the supervision of Dr. Gotti and Dr. Marraudino. I am also currently completing a professional internship at the laboratory animal facility under their supervision.
Research focus
This academic experience highlights a dedication to studying Psychobiology and Neuroendocrinology, bridging fundamental and applied scientific disciplines. Actual research is divided into two complementary lines. First, research is focused on genistein, a natural endocrine disruptor found in products such as those derived from soy, and its effects, particularly on the thyroid and stress axis. In addition, the effects of exposure to Genistein on female rats under an anorexia model are being tested.
Secondly, the exposure to a daily treatment with other endocrine disruptors on female mice, during pregnancy and lactation, and the effect that it might have on offspring, is currently being investigated by the same research team.
To do so, several skills are required, concerning the handling of animals, Immunohistochemistry and molecular assays. Also several behavioral tests are conducted to support the molecular results, making it altogether a complex investigation.
