- Study of the neuroanatomical and functional integration of human striatal neurons into rodent models of Huntington Disease
- Study of the mechanisms underlying glial cell defects occurring in the Autosomal Dominant Leukodystrophies (ADLD) through the differentiation of both ADLD and non-diseased patient-derived human induced pluripotent stem cells into mature astrocytes and oligodendrocytes
- Study of the astrocyte reactivity and the role of the astrocytic transcription factor SOX2 in the modulation of the inflammatory environment upon quinolinic acid (QA)-mediated excitotoxic lesion in mice
Expertise
Cell culture: hiPSC maintenance and glial differentiation, glial cell cultures.
Histology: perfusion, tissue fixation, cryostat and vibratome sectioning, immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry. Molecular biology: RNA/DNA extraction, PCR, RT-PCR, oligonucleotide design.
Microscopy: brightfield, fluorescence, confocal, stereological counting, 3D reconstructions of light and confocal microscopy acquisitions.
Behavioral test.
Surgery: stereotaxic injections, cell transplantation. Transgenic mouse line breeding and BSL2 animal management.
